The Fucking Monkeys Is Coming.
A newly unveiled company with some high-profile backers, including filmmaker James Cameron and Google co-founder Larry Page, is set to announce plans to mine near-Earth asteroids for resources such as precious metals and water.
Stargazers have discovered an intriguing object jutting out from the surface of Mars. The seemingly perfectly rectangular, upright structure, found in NASA images of the Red Planet, bears a striking resemblance to the monoliths planted on Earth and the moon by aliens in the classic sci-fi film “2001: A Space Odyssey.”
The biggest solar storm in five years is battering our planet right now, and may cause disruptions to satellites, power grids and communications networks over the next 24 hours, space weather experts say.
